Receiving results

Results are delivered through LabNexus, a secure portal connected directly to the laboratory’s LIMS. A practice orders and receives results in the same place, and a result appears as soon as it is reported rather than after a separate publishing step.

Access is set up for a practice during onboarding. Practices that prefer another delivery route are configured to it.

What a report carries

Clinicore reports a measured concentration, not a threshold call. That distinction is the substance of the toxicology and endocrine reports both:

  • A number for every detection, against the cutoff or reportable range that applies to that analyte
  • Parent drug and confirmatory metabolite reported together, so a prescribed medication is confirmed by the marker it actually produces rather than inferred
  • A scope note where one applies — where the reportable range does not cover the full clinical question, the report and the test page both say so

Toxicology reports additionally sort results into consistent with the reported prescription, reported but not detected, and detected without a prescription.

Results are released to the ordering provider

Clinicore does not release or discuss results directly with patients. The ordering provider holds the report and is the right person to interpret it.

A patient contacting the laboratory about a result will be directed back to the provider who ordered the test. That is stated plainly on the contact page rather than left for someone to discover.
